This is an executive position (no union affiliation) and serves at the pleasure of the Mayor of the Municipality of Anchorage.
DEPARTMENT: Municipal Attorney - Civil Law Division HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.
m.
to 5:00 p.
m.
LOCATION: City Hall 632 W 6th Avenue Example of Duties Assistant Municipal Attorney positions function as an assistant to the Municipal Attorney to provide the full range of legal services on requests from the Mayor, Manager, Chief Executive Officers and Municipal Assemblly, either directly or through the Municipal Attorney as appropriate and assigned.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences Graduation from an accredited school of law, must be admitted to the State of Alaska Bar Association, and four (4) years of experience as a Municipal Attorney I with the Municipality of Anchorage or the equivalent elsewhere.
Must possess a valid State of Alaska driver’s license and satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) / National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification within 30 days of hire.

If selected for hire, appointment in this position will be conditional based upon the submission of a current copy of the applicant's Alaska driver's license and a current (dated within 30 days from date requested) copy of his/her Department of Motor Vehicle driving record, including a driving record from previous states if the Alaskan driver's license was first issued within one year prior to application, documenting an acceptable driving history.
