Summary of Job Functions:
The Driver is responsible for picking up and delivering goods in the most efficient manner possible.
The driver also functions as a Job Coach/Employment Specialist and will be responsible for assisting participants of The Arc of Anchorage employment program through the successful completion in attaining and retaining employment opportunities in the community.
The Driver is responsible for informing the Manager concerning any necessary vehicle repairs.
Drivers are required to complete notes and timecards at the end of the day and, if necessary, file any additional paperwork from working with individuals throughout the day.
Essential Job Functions:
Complete the daily route in the most efficient manner, based on an average quota of 15 stops per hour.
Ability to read and interpret instructions from Manager and to locate scheduled deliveries from the Savers app.

Ability to use a different app on the phone if the Savers app is not leading the driver to the proper area for pick-up.
Perform a daily safety check per the training received.
Call the Manager with any issues during the pick-up process.
Load and unload trucks in the prescribed manner.
Distribute receipts to customers at all pickups.
Ability to communicate effectively and to maintain a positive attitude towards other staff and the public.
Work as a team member with other drivers and provide assistance when requested.
Keep the vehicle clean and presentable, inside and out.
Report to the Manager any property damage to donor or agency property.
Ability to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move the object.
Other duties as assigned as a Member of the Employment Services Team.
Measurable Production Guidelines:
Performs a daily safety check of radio, tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
Calls in any issues with pickups to the manager.
Loads and unloads trucks in the prescribed manner.
Issues receipts to customers when pick-ups are made.
Files accurate Paperwork, including but not limited to, Notes, Timecards, GERs, etc.
Communication Skills:
Strong oral & written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with other staff & the public.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to operate a cube van
Must possess a thorough knowledge of the Anchorage/Mat-Su area road systems
Maintains a positive working relationship with vendors and customers
Answers customer complaints or inquiries within agency specified timeframe
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
One-year experience working with people who experience developmental disabilities is strongly preferred
Prefer a minimum of 5 years of driving experience
Clearances:
Valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance
Background checks as defined by licensing agencies
TB Assessment
Satisfactory completion of Arc driver’s paid training or be able to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications.
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance as needed
Ability to see within normal parameters
Adaptability to a fast-paced environment
Ability to drive a van
Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time
Must be physically able to evacuate individuals in the event of an emergency
May be required to use physical support with an individual to prevent injury to themselves or others
