GSE Supervisor GSE Technician Supervisor is responsible for supervising repairs and maintenance on a variety of gasoline and diesel-powered equipment and vehicles.
The GSE Supervisor will be overseeing all the ground support equipment maintenance programs and assisting the company meet goals through the provision of services specific to Pegasus.
The GSE Technician Supervisor will also maintain, repair, perform maintenance (preventive and on-demand) on aircraft ground support equipment (motorized and non-motorized, gasoline and diesel fueled) if needed.
The GSE Technician Supervisor position is a support services position whose work routine is established and follows a set of procedures.
It generally functions under close supervisory direction or guidance of the GSE Manager.
Essential Duties • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems.
• Issues purchase requisitions for materials and parts necessary to perform work.
• Trouble-shoot mechanical problems on GSE and coordinates repairs • Operate aircraft de-icing equipment and participate in deicing events • Repair electric/hydraulic systems and be able to read electrical/hydraulic schematics • Trouble-shoot mechanical problems on GSE and coordinates repairs • Coordinates and assists with Emergency repair calls while on duty • Keeps records of work in process and completed along with the employee time and materials.
• Assigns, schedules, and coordinates activities of personnel.
• Duties include, but not limited to, troubleshooting, tune-up, repair and overhaul of power-plant, drivetrain, electric and hydraulic systems • Helps improves the reliability of the equipment through improvements in preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Use systems that track/ trend equipment performance to identify and proactively address reliability issues.
Ensure their team completes data entry requirements for work completed.
• Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the GSE work areas at all times • Observe safe ground handling procedures and maintenance of ground handling equipment, including the performance of equipment checks.
• Leads and directs the work of other employees.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor and Manager This Position Requires: • Be at least 18 years of age • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory/management experience in GSE maintenance, or equivalent (general vehicle mx) • Must be a U.
S.
citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.
S.
• High School graduate or GED • Must be willing to work in inclement weather • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English • Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints • Must be a self starter and willing to take the initiative • Able and willing to work without direct supervision • Required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules • Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history and pre-employment drug test • May be required to travel up to 25% of the time • Accept all other assigned duties by GSE Manager Physical Demands: Background position skill ranking areas: Language Skills: • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Speak effectively one-to-one and before groups of customers or employees of the organization Math skills: • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Abilities: • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form.
• Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Abilities: • The GSE Technician Supervisor on occasion may lift or move with help up to 70-100 pounds, and/or more frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
The GSE Supervisor is regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, bend, stoop, kneel, and is frequently required to stand, walk.
The GSE Supervisor may be required to climb, sit, and balance.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
• The GSE Supervisor is usually working outside and is exposed to all types of weather conditions with a seasonal range of temperatures which include rain, snow, wind, and extreme temperatures.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can vary dramatically depending on location and time of day.
Occasionally high noise levels where hearing protection is required and provided.
