Duties As a Support Services Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Serve as a Support Service Specialist on administrative and management support services provided to all personnel.
Assist the Senior Support Services Specialist with ensuring the quality and timeliness of all principal administrative support, management services, and service products prepared and issued by support services staff.
Develop support services products for dissemination, which are reviewed and approved prior to issuance.
Evaluate performance and serve as an office liaison with resolving contractor issues.
Study, analyze and interpret policy, regulatory material, regulations and manuals and other publications and directives relating to support service operations to ensure policies and procedures are consistent with requirements.
Work through the Senior Support Services Specialist to resolve conflicts and prepare documentation for proposed policy/procedural revisions and recommendations.
Follow standing operating procedures for support services Position Description for the Agency and consult with the Senior Support Services Specialist when existing guidelines are inadequate, outdated, or nonexistent.
Assist the Senior Support Services Specialist with the preparation of related budget estimates and analysis of office requirements for new office equipment, telecommunications, printing, furniture, supplies, materials and services; evaluate vendor products and make recommendations; prepare written justifications for purchases for approval; draft statements of work and contractual provisions for personnel, property, and space for approval; advise senior employees regarding long- range planning needs.
Handle general office administrative matters which may occur on a day-to-day basis.
Routinely collaborate with the Senior Support Services Specialist in assessing program performance from a quality and timeliness perspective.
Administer Support Services procedure and policy guidance for Division level and Field Office personnel.

To qualify at the GS-09: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 in the Federal service.
Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Participating with office management support in areas such as procurement, budget execution, emergency planning or human resource management; and Assisting with general office administrative matters which may occur on a day-to-day basis.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: 2 years or a master's or equivalent graduate degree in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled.
OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience as described above.
To qualify at the GS-11: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 in the Federal service.
Specialized experience MUST include all of the following: Assisting with office management support in areas such as procurement, budget execution, emergency planning or human resource management; and Handling general office administrative matters which may occur on a day-to-day basis.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: 3 years of graduate level education or a Ph.
D.
or equivalent doctoral degree in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled.
OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience as described above.
Education There is no positive education requirement for this position.
Additional information Well-qualified for CTAP and ICTAP eligibility includes those candidates who have been determined to exceed minimum qualifications for the position by attaining at least a rating of 85, but otherwise may or may not be among the highly or best-qualified candidates.
