This position is being recruited for in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau.
Pay will be determined based on location of selected individual.
Anchorage salary: $2,273.
25 biweekly pay Fairbanks salary: $2,341.
50 biweekly pay Juneau salary: $2,387.
25 biweekly pay What you will be doing: The Grants and Contracts team for the Division of Water plays a critical role in securing and administering funding to maintain and improve water quality in Alaska.
Our team supports a variety of programs across the Division, from administering sub-grants to restore and protect Alaska’s watersheds, to working with communities to fund water and sanitation infrastructure projects through grants and loans.
Our team is flexible, fun, supportive, and finds value in our Department’s mission.
This position is responsible for providing professional-level grant and loan administration, while working in collaboration with Division program staff and outside agencies.
This position is responsible for the generation and maintenance of individual community grant and loan agreements, timely reporting and monitoring, and professional communications with a variety of partners.

This position works as part of a small group of Grants Administrators housed within the Division’s Financial and Administrative Management program.

The working environment you can expect: The physical location of this position will depend on the applicant, within our three major offices in Juneau, Fairbanks, and Anchorage.

Minimum Qualifications Successful completion of a formal training plan as a Grants Administrator 1 with the State of Alaska.
OR Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in Accounting: Knowledge of traditional accounting practices including accrual, obligations, and costs methods.
Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance.
Grants Management: Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements.
Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues.
Equivalent to those typically gained by: Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience in accounting, grants administration, budget administration, procurement, professional services contracts and/or providing administrative support to a business or organization.

“Typically gained by” means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job.
